More than anything else, Charlie does an excellent job to encourage and even inspire his readers to make (good) changes in their life and to become more courageous with women. If you want to approach women with more success, and in a manageable way, Charlie lays the groundwork in mostly simple terms. More importantly, he does so in a way that allows men to maintain their integrity.My biggest take away from the book were his principles on expressing values and standards, which I plan to implement immediately.
That said, I've got some (minor) issues with the title. I understand what he means when he says "Anti-Pickup", but that's a big part of the book. No, it's not the sleazy pickup you've read about in other books, and he does well to illustrate the difference. But if you're detailing steps to successfully approach women, even if your intentions are honest, it's pickup.
However, none of that is a problem for me. I have ideals I try to adhere to and nothing I read in this book was morally compromising. Even if his approach isn't your style, I'd say it's worth it the read given his methodology has valuable lessons.

I love the book how practical and easy to implement it is, the author breaks down all the essential elements of attracting women with lots of practical examples, he makes it look almost too easy. Highly recommend to read out of all the books this is in the top 10 for sure.
Some great information in here. Does it all resonate with me? No. But what book does that? You take it all in and apply what fits for you. I'm in my forties, so some of the stuff, I'm convinced, would just make me look creepy to a younger girl. However, if you are a younger guy, the sky is the limit.
What I really like is the way Charlie writes. I've read a lot of his stuff and always come away feeling inspired. With his approach on meeting women and the challenges of life, he doesn't tell you to "not be afraid". He is more like "it's okay to be afraid, just go do it anyway". He and Ben are big on pushing your edges. If you develop this attitude, one cannot help but to see more success with women and in life.
Anti-Pick Up Line is a great companion to Houperts other book, Charisma on Command. It offers more details in the context of interacting with attractive women. I think I got the most value out of the list of his tenants and character values. I think its important for men and women both to have values or a "code" that they attempt to live by. Houpert starts with his own tenants, and it informs the rest of the book with his focus on authenticity and honesty.The book isn't short on methods, but they all originate from having a firm sense of ourselves. I would recommend this book to guys that accept that having an abundant life starts with our own outlook on things, and that the details will necessarily follow.
Forget all your assumptions about "pickup artists" before you read this book. There's nothing in here about manipulating, tricking, lying to, or even persuading people to do anything.

Seriously, my life has improved in countless ways since I read this book and other writings by Charlie Houpert. Even though the Anti Pick Up Line focuses specifically on meeting women at clubs and bars, the underlying philosophy—face your fears and never lie—has transformed the way I approach practically every situation.
I will say this the book is pretty specifically aimed towards young (21-30) males. If you don't fit into the demographic that APUL targets, a lot of the advice won't apply, or will be hard to put into action. Charlie has some other writings that benefit everyone, regardless of age, gender, or relationship status.
Excellent book that advances your understanding of what to do from a broad perspective (manifest your values and respect of self into your life in the form of standards) and in specific situations (have fun by taking risk and making jokes). Given its length and price I wholeheartedly recommend its purchase (also read models and six pillars of self esteem). biggest takeaways. 1) Be for your self - only accept good behavior from others; otherwise cut them out if your life. Honor the self by manifesting values into life; respect both what you want to do and your dignity as an individual even if difficult to do so. 2) have fun. Simply put take risks by injecting humor into conversations from the get go (the strategy is to form connections with thise that value you - not forming connections you don't like. Some of this advice is obvious but so removed from common practice that is has become rare in real life. thank you Charlie for helping pointing me towards these truths.
Wasn't a big fan of it. It was written for teens and not for people who still struggle with talking to girls. The seller is great, when I wanted to return it they said I could keep it and they would refund the money. I donated it to a local library.
